Welcome to you glow up: The 5-Second-Restart and Renewing Your Mind.

Welcome to your glow up: The 5-Second Restart and Renewing Your Mind.

Before we can start anything in this life, we have to get our thoughts and our minds right. As it says in the Word: “Don’t let the world squeeze you into its mold, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” In our world today, that “mold” is often social media. We get caught up in The Reel vs. The Real. We see everyone else’s success, but we don’t see the work they’re doing behind the scenes. Don’t get caught up in someone else’s highlight reel and forget to tend to your own garden.

This transformation is the heartbeat of my coaching, and it comes from a place of real experience. I’m not here to preach at you, but I do believe in prayer, in God, and in the power of faith. However, I also know that faith without works is dead.

My journey really took a turn during the pandemic. For me, it felt like God put me in a “timeout” to sit and reflect. I was suffering from intense depression and anxiety, and I reached a crossroad: was I going to suffer the pain of change, or the pain of staying the same? I chose the pain of change. I put my therapist on speed dial, I stayed in prayer, and I stopped drinking. I did the deep, internal digging to get to the root of my trauma. By the end of that first year, I was happier than I had ever been.

But life has a way of testing the work you’ve done. For the last five years, it hasn’t been roses and swinging from chandeliers. I kept moving forward and reached a major milestone in 2024, graduating from Walden with my Master’s in Elementary Education and embarking on my teaching career. I’ve been teaching all my life, but this is the first time I’ve made a career out of it. I love what I do, but I’ve had to learn that my new career cannot stop me from the things I am called to do long-term.

Last year, one event after another occurred that almost derailed my career before I even got it off the ground. I was hospitalized three separate times. Missing that much time while being new on the job was terrifying. I am so grateful for the grace my colleagues and my job showed me during that time.

But even after getting back on track at work, the tests didn’t stop. In November, I lost my car in a total-loss accident. After not driving for eight years, I had finally gotten that car and had it for four years. Losing it felt like I was taking massive steps backward. In that same season, I lost my precious cat, Piss Pauls. My family wasn’t in alignment, and I had to lose some friends to find my peace.

I had to use the 5-Second Restart right then and there. I had to stop the thoughts that told me I was failing and replace them with the truth. Since losing that car, I have actually improved my attendance at work and maintained perfect attendance. What could have broken me actually proved my resilience.

I realized then that “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” That heaviness you feel is often situational—it’s because you are carrying a dream inside that you haven’t given birth to yet. I’m in that “waiting game” right now. My website is years in the making and my two books are in the grueling editing process. But I’ve had to reset and understand that everything has its place and its season. I can’t stop moving just because the website isn’t done.

I’ve learned to trust the Seed Process. The roots have to be strong enough to hold the stem, the leaves, and finally, the beautiful flower. Right now, I’m starting to see that little stem coming up. Like the caterpillar in the cocoon, the transition is a challenge, and there will always be storms. But the clouds will pass, and the sun will shine again.

This is why I created The Glow Up Blueprint, a three-step journey to guide you from where you are to where you are meant to be:

  • Phase 1: Discovery and Spark – Getting to the root and finding your light.

  • Phase 2: Strategic Action and Shine – Doing the work and moving with purpose.

  • Phase 3: Radiant Purpose and Glow – Stepping into your full power.

The 5-Second Restart is how you lead your emotions instead of letting them lead you. Whether you stop to find gratitude in a busy afternoon to break a negative cycle or unload your thoughts in a journal at night, you are actively renewing your mind.

I still go to therapy when I need it. I still pray and believe God. My coaching is a space for you to stop numbing yourself, stop comparing your life to a screen, and start doing the work to let your dreams breathe.

Are you ready to stop suffering the pain of staying the same? Let’s use that 5-second restart and grow together. You don’t have to do the root-work alone. Welcome to a community where we heal, we work, and we shine—together. If you are ready, say “She ready” now! Own it, and let’s begin!
